Discover
the magic of Ailey! The
Center for Contemporary Dance will host two Master Classes led by Troy Powell, Associate
Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Ailey
II. Each two-hour
Master Class will emphasize and explore the Modern Dance Traditions
of the incomparable Alvin Ailey. Classes are designed to meet
the needs of advanced dancers, providing valuable insight into the
art of creating, executing and living dance.
Mature
dancers with several years of training are invited to participate
and approval by The Center’s Artistic Director is required to
register. To ensure the
best possible learning experience, each Master Class is strictly
limited to 30 dancers and advanced registration, including
nonrefundable tuition, must be completed to guarantee your
place. Early
registration is highly recommended.
To
register please call (407) 695-8366. Only dancers who have
received prior approval by The Center’s Artistic Director may
register online by making payment here. Class
Requirements: Participants must wear black
dance attire (jazz pants, tights, leotards, etc.). Hair must be pulled back and
away from face, and no jewelry is permitted. Classes are conducted
barefoot. Classes begin
on time and latecomers will not be admitted.

Presenting a
contemporary twist on Lewis Carroll's classic Alice's
Adventures in Wonderland, Nao Dance explores the
fragile transitional period between childhood and adulthood in this
fanciful, thought-provoking tale about metamorphosis and
self-discovery. With
engaging improvisational choreography, original scores, live
accompaniment and a powerful message, Alice Takes Wonderland
explores what it means to grow up feeling different by taking a
sentimental look at the value of childhood. Suitable for all ages.

The Center for Contemporary Dance
is pleased to participate in the Orange County Arts Education Center's Rush
to the Arts Ticket Program.
The Center will provide unsold tickets to a performance on
the day of the performance to students and teachers (K-12) with a
valid school ID (2 tickets per ID) for $10 each. In order to purchase
tickets, you must appear in person at The Wayne Densch Performing Arts
Center one hour prior to the performance. Tickets cannot be purchased
or reserved over the phone.
First come, first served until tickets are
gone. **Rush
to the Arts tickets are not guaranteed and might not be available
for each
performance.
